Some Basic Bun Facts to Consider Before You Adopt

  • Rabbits can live 8 to 10 years.
  • It is a common misconception that a rabbit is a low maintenance pet. In reality, they require as much work as a dog or cat.
  •  To truly enjoy a rabbit's unique personality, he should be kept inside the house where he can become a more meaningful part of the family. This means the house must be bunny-proofed, and the rabbit litter trained.
  •  Rabbits can be very destructive. Domestic rabbits must have chew toys provided; otherwise, they will help themselves to your furniture, electric cords, and other household items.
  •  Rabbits brought home with the intention of becoming a child's pet usually become the responsibility of the Mom in the family within three weeks. Most of the rabbits we are asked to take in are from homes with this situation.

About our Foster Rabbits
  • All of our adoptable rabbits have been spayed or neutered.
  • Rabbits have individual personalities and some have special needs. Because of this, we work very hard to place the right bunny in the right home and we never rush the adoption process or pressure anyone to adopt a rabbit.
  • Before an adoption, we will answer all questions about the bunny's personality, needs, and medical issues (if any) to the best of our knowledge. After the adoption, we are also available to answer your questions and help both you and your bunny make the adjustment to your new lives.
  • We have bunnies who are bonded (best friends) and must be placed together. As with all of our bunnies, bunnies that are best friends have been spayed or neutered so there will never be a surprise litter of baby bunnies.
  • We also have single bunnies - some of these bunnies are looking for a best friend. If you already have a rabbit (who has been spayed or neutered) we might have the right friend for your bunny.
  • If at ANY TIME after you adopt, you cannot or do not wish to care for your rabbit(s) any longer, we WILL ABSOLUTELY TAKE THEM BACK INTO OUR CARE! if for ANY reason an adoption does not work out, or you changes your mind, WE WILL TAKE THEM BACK INTO OUR CARE! If you have a bonded pair and only one rabbit was adopted from EARS, will will bring both rabbits into our care so the bonded couple is not separated.
